Into Thin Air Written by Brea Robertson Step by Step Hoping I don’t fall Down to the raging river Between the rocky mountains tall A promise of faith A pure heart to find I persist among danger Losing concept of time Slowly Slowly Gaining height Away from all the mess I made And all the old life’s lies As I journey ahead Memories slowly left behind Freeing my heart for the truth And my soul for the divine Renewed, my mind stills Breathing in clean air I will never go back To the darkness I’ve been spared Slowly Slowly Gaining height Away from all the mess I made And all the old life’s lies Lifting my high Into thin air High above the clouds Where the birds don’t dare The hills spread beneath A patchwork of dreams And hearts that I once knew In an old life that’s been

Dead Autumn Leaves Written by Brea Robertson The wind…whispers over the waves Carries secrets away To lovers across the sea The wind…Takes this pain away Tells my love it ain’t easy Did I leave before my time? And I…will soar from this place High above the clouds With the wind in my face And I…will fly with the breeze Dance with dead autumn leaves Till I am home This life…brings tears to my eyes Too many flowers pressed in the ground Where its fragrance will never be found This life…brings me to my knees Shows me I’ll never be King Still we fight over the crown And I…will soar from this place High above the clouds With the wind in my face And I…will fly with the breeze Dance with dead autumn leaves Till I am home The flame…will burn all that is false Will be turned into dust The flame…will reveal its shining gold The ones who claimed they held it Will be left with gritty stones But I…will soar from this place High above the clouds With the wind in my face And I…will fly with the breeze Dance with dead autumn leaves Till I am home

Swimming in Blue Brea Robertson I looked up I saw you smiling Through the clouds in the dusk You were there I let go, I was rising Towards the sun, just to meet you there Just to meet you there, Just to meet you there But you, like you always do You faded into the blue And dispersed in bright colours over me So then I ran My heart faster Into the dark night ahead You said you’d be there Not knowing if I’d last long And your face in the dark Beckoned to me so I ran I ran I ran But you Like you always do You faded into blue And dispersed bright colours over me And you Like you always do Left me drowning in blue With nothing but light to guide me And I I grab what I find But I’m left swimming in blue

Hillcrest 04:41
Hillcres Written by Brea Robertson He’s by the fence humming peace to his herd No soul to be seen, just him and the birds The dry grass blows wild as he limps up the hill Blessing sunburnt land over years he’s tilled He sings.. On Hillcrest, the place where I call home Our spirits run through long grass free to roam Hideaway houses and bellowing souls Perched high up on haystacks while the sun sinks below Outside in the dark, I see a flickering light Bouncing among pine trees on a cold winter’s night That’s her with her children searching for new life The bleating of a young one needing warmth to survive She sings… On Hillcrest, the place where I call home Our spirits run through long grass free to roam Hideaway houses and bellowing souls Perched high up on haystacks while the sun sinks below Best of all was a hot Christmas day While the roast crackled, aunties laughed, cousins played Cricket in the dust and Santa skidding on his bike Those days on Hillcrest were the best of my life We sing… On Hillcrest, the place where I call home Our spirits run through long grass free to roam Hideaway houses and bellowing souls Perched high up on haystacks while the sun sinks below And now, tired, he lies in a bed far away His body worn out from those hot working days From nothing they sowed and sixty years they did reap The memories of Nan and Pa in those fields I will keep I’ll sing On Hillcrest, the place where I call home Our spirits run through long grass free to roam Hideaway houses and bellowing souls Perched high up on haystacks while the sun sinks below

Blackforest Song Written by Brea Robertson Let’s get out of this place Just you and I Leaving behind The trains and the buses The faults of our fathers Our endless minds I’m tired… I can see the sun going down Past the mountain tops In a purple sky Where the buzzard flies Above where we sit drinking wine With the sound of the river below Must we go back? To the race of the rats And the streets void of joy Let’s stay where the fields are full of green And cows, and flowers, tranquility I’m alive… I’m alive… I can see the sun going down Past the mountain tops In a purple sky Where the buzzard flies Above where we sit drinking wine With the sound of the river below And with you I could stay here forever And with you I’m happy by this river

Hold Me Forever Brea Robertson Looking up at the clouds in the sky Thinking bout life, bout just you and I Have you ever thought about the day we’ll die? Come take my hand, we’ll be like birds and fly The full moon lights our way through the night Together we’ll walk, just you and I The howl in the darkness gives me a fright But in your arms, I know, I’ll stay alive Hold me forever, my love Hold me forever, my love And in return I’ll give you my heart So walk with me, my love The forest hides away the darkest dreams And in between the leaves I see you and me The path alights by the glow worms plea Forever is now, and I want you to be Hold me forever, my love Hold me forever, my love And in return I’ll give you my heart So walk with me, my love So, come take my hand Come take my hand, my love Footprints in the sand Footprints in the sand, my love Twirl me in the dark Twirl me in the dark, my love Walk with me, my love

about

'Hillcrest to Here' is Brea Robertson's second independent EP release. Combining ethereal vocals, folky rhythms, the slide guitar and cello, each song delivers the listener with a new sound, and story. Telling the stories of her personal experiences moving from Australia to Berlin, the songs are raw and intuitive and with complete abandon.
